You may think you can do the leaflet design and copy yourself to save money but you have to weigh up how much more effective the leaflet could be with professional help.
Here are some quick tips on what makes a good leaflet:
- Use colour to make the leaflet attractive. Black and white isn’t usually as effective.
- Use a concise and attention-grabbing headline to entice the potential customer to read on.
- Don’t write too much – use bullet lists and short sentences to make the leaflet easy to read and scan.
- Use attractive images to add interest.
- Add a call to action such as “book now” or “call for more information”.

- Hand leaflets out in the street
- Send a direct mail shot
- Slip them into magazines and papers (with permission)
- Place them on windscreens
